About the Role
The Trade Lane Managers Singapore / Malaysia and INDIA are responsible for developing and managing trade lanes between Germany and these 2 main clusters SG/MY and INDIA. The role combines commercial development, carrier management and strategic lane optimization, working closely with regional and local offices and partners
Key Responsibilities
Trade Lane Development & Strategy
- Develop and implement trade lane strategies from and to (Singapore, Malaysia and India)
- Strengthen volumes and profitability across assigned corridors
- Identify new business opportunities and growth potential
- Budget preparation
Carrier & Partner Management
- Build and maintain strong relationships with airlines, ocean carriers and regional partners in conjunction with respective product heads
- Negotiate rates and secure competitive capacity
- Ensure service quality and reliability across trade lanes
Commercial & Business Development
- Support regional and local sales teams in developing these freight corridors
- Provide market intelligence, pricing strategies and solution design
- Act as key interface between Germany – SG / MY as well as INDIA
- Focus on KAM Development
Performance & Optimization
- Monitor trade lane performance, volumes and profitability
- Identify optimization potential and implement improvements
- Support tender processes and strategic customer projects
Your Profile
- Several years of experience in international freight forwarding
- Strong knowledge of Asia trade lanes, ideally Singapore, Malaysia and/or India
- Background in Air and/or Ocean Freight
- Commercial mindset with strong negotiation skills
- International experience and intercultural competence
- Fluent English required
Context of the Position
The position is part of a broader international setup, where Asian trade lanes play a central role in the company’s development. It involves close interaction with regional and local teams, partners and carriers, contributing to the continuous expansion and stabilization of business flows between Europe and Asia.
The position is based in Germany.
