Carving-out project of air and ocean branch

WCL got approached by a larger forwarding group which wanted to carve out it’s air&ocean activities in North Rhine-Westphalia and was looking for a larger network to take over and integrate the business.

The mandate was to find the right buyers and assist during the carving out process.

We introduced the companies and supported the negotiations to complete the deal with a satisfactory outcome for both parties.

The WCL M&A System

  • First step: WCL analysed the market to find a suitable buyer who wanted to expand into central germany and would be strong enough intergrate the new branch and keep the existing business and of course the entire team on board.
  • Step two: We introduced the management of both parties and facilitated a first meeting following the signing of an NDA.
  • Step three: We helped align the interests of both parties during the negotiations and managed the process to a successful conclusion for both companies.

It was essential for the seller to ran a smooth carving out process without disruption of the day-to-day business. At the same time it was mandatory for the buyer to maintain the the team and hold the customers.

The buyer met the seller’s expectations perfectly. The deal included a positive working environment for the seller and his team and they managed to keep most of the business on board.
