We are thrilled to announce the new addition to our team at WCL Worldwide Consultants in Logistics GmbH – Kurt Leidinger, who joined us as a partner. Kurt’s career, spanning over four decades in the logistics and transportation sector, exemplifies a journey of dedication, expertise, and leadership.
Kurt’s professional story began in 1979 when he started as an apprentice at DB Schenker in Wels. His eagerness to learn and adapt allowed him to work his way through every department of a freight forwarder, gaining invaluable insights and experience that paved the way for his impressive career trajectory. After a significant stint at TNT-Express Worldwide as Depot General Manager, Kurt returned to DB Schenker in 1993, where he assumed various leadership roles. His ascent from departmental manager to branch manager and eventually to Board Member for Air and Ocean Freight, Contract Logistics, and Sales is a testament to his skill and vision.
In 2013, Kurt was appointed CEO of DB Schenker Southeast-Europe and, three years later, took over as CEO of DB Schenker Germany & Switzerland. His responsibilities expanded further in 2019 with a special assignment to establish a region in Central Asia & Caucasus. From 2020 to 2022, Kurt honed his expertise in large fleet management as a managing director within the Austrian trucking and forwarding companies, focusing on truck fleet management and European intermodal transport.
Kurt has always maintained a keen focus on contract logistics, the development of sales units, and the crafting of overall transport solutions. His ability to manage large-scale outsourcing projects has been one of his standout competences.
In November 2022, Kurt embarked on an entrepreneurial venture by opening his own consulting firm, KL-Logistik & Management Consulting e.U., in Wels, Austria. Through this platform, he supports the transport and forwarding market, leveraging his vast experience in transport and logistics issues, as well as management topics. Kurt is also actively involved in Executive Search & Recruiting and M&A affairs across Austria and South East Europe.
Beyond his professional endeavors, Kurt serves as the Vice-Chairman of the Austrian Logistics Association VNL (Verein Netzwerk Logistik) and shares his knowledge as a lecturer at the University of Applied Sciences in Steyr, Austria.
