At home in the transport and logistics industry, on the move in international markets, at your side in M&A (Mergers & Acquisitions) transactions: WCL is your experienced and globally savvy partner at eye level when it comes to company sales, acquisitions and mergers. After all, our experts know the challenges and demands of logistics companies not only as external consultants, but also first-hand thanks to their former management positions within the industry.
Our expertise as advising mentors and organizers gained through many M&A projects together with our profound market knowledge of the forwarding industry makes WCL the ideal partner for you as a medium-sized company in all M&A projects. Due to our international reputation and networking, you can also rely on WCL being a qualified matchmaker – who will find the ideal buyer or seller in the right time window for you.
As a medium-sized company, you in particular must be able to rely on an expert in the M&A process who knows how to evaluate and communicate the actual value of your company. This is because it goes without saying that the expert does not only consist of the obvious key figures. Rather, the special position in the market, the historical development and the strategic advantage for potential buyers also play a decisive role here. We analyse all this for you in a sound manner and prepare it for the so-called due diligence process, i.e. the economic, tax and legal review.
We accompany you through all negotiation phases with potential buyers, lawyers and other advisors to ensure efficient, result-oriented communication from initiation to conclusion of the contract. Protecting all your interests is, of course, our top priority. Especially when it comes to such responsible issues as securing employment relationships and jobs as well as preserving culture and values. In this way, we ensure at your side that even after an M&A transaction has been concluded, what you as the owner of the company have stood for with your performance and your name remains intact.
Many business goals can be achieved effectively and with a good time schedule through the acquisition of another company: whether expansion of the business model, increase in efficiency, entry into new markets or other regions. WCL helps medium-sized companies with many years of experience and comprehensive expertise to find suitable sellers and accompanies you through all phases of the M&A purchase process – from the sound analysis in the run-up to the successful conclusion of the contract. In addition, our M&A experts can also supervise important integration processes after the contract has been signed, thus ensuring that you can efficiently achieve your goals within the time frame provided.
Even the selection of attractive properties for purchase is tailored to the necessary integration processes, possible synergies and the necessary investments. All discussions with potential sellers are then focused on your individual objectives, so that the chances of success can be reliably assessed after a short time. The relevant companies will run through a comprehensive due diligence process – WCL will support this process entirely. Finally, we act as your strong partner in the M&A contract negotiations, representing your interests with regard to the future transfer of services and knowledge or the takeover of valuable employees.
Please feel free to contact us personally with your questions – or to arrange an appointment for a consultation with your M&A contact at WCL.

WCL found a perfectly matching buyer for the medium-sized air and sea freight company from North Rhine-Westphalia and managed the entire sales process. A special challenge was to separate a branch from the main company in such a way that it could be integrated into the buying company. Our M&A specialists were able to successfully realise this special asset deal.
In this case WCL had to act as a matchmaker for a company with over 500 employees and a presence in more than 15 countries that generated sales of 160 million Euros and had to find the perfect buyer. Our M&A strategists also accompanied the sales negotiations and helped to close a deal above 50 million Euros, which lead to a successful integration of the sold company into the buyer’s organisation.
WCL searched and successfully found a company with high customs clearance expertise to sell for the buyer who was already represented in Brazil. In order to be able to make full use of this expertise after the purchase, it was necessary to merge the purchased company with the buyer’s branches and maintain the management structures. After completion the set-up of the new company came close to a reversed take-over.
WCL was able to successfully offer the market-leading company to a global logistics company with high expansion ambitions and accompanied all negotiations to a mutually satisfactory conclusion. The buyer thus succeeded in entering the market on the African continent in a leading regional position.
Finding a buyer with a strategic fit for the company and successfully bringing the parties together was a particular challenge, but the WCL M&A specialists succeeded in doing so very well. WCL accompanied the sales negotiations up to the conclusion.
