For an internationally operating freight forwarding company with a strong presence in overseas traffic, we are seeking an experienced professional in the field of import operations – ideally with additional export expertise.
In this role, you will independently manage ocean freight import shipments (FCL/LCL) as well as rail transports and, ideally, also bring experience in export operations. This combination is highly valued in today’s market and will be recognized accordingly.
Your Responsibilities
- Independent operational handling of ocean freight imports (FCL/LCL), including rail transports
- Optional: Handling of ocean freight exports (FCL/LCL)
- Interface with international customers, agents, shipping lines and trucking companies
- End-to-end coordination of the transport chain from arrival to final delivery
- Customs processing (ATLAS, T1, etc.)
- Coordination of pre- and on-carriage by truck, rail or barge
- Quotation preparation, rate requests and cost calculations
- Review and approval of incoming invoices and customer billing
- Working with TMS systems (e.g. CargoWise is an advantage)
Your Profile
- Completed apprenticeship in freight forwarding and logistics services
- Several years of professional experience in ocean freight import (overseas forwarding)
- Ideally additional export experience – operationally and organizationally
- Very good English skills, written and spoken
- Confident use of MS Office and common freight forwarding systems
- Structured, independent and resilient working style
- Strong communication skills and professional presence
