For an international logistics and supply chain services company, WCL – Worldwide Consultants in Logistics is supporting the search for several National Account Managers in the United States.
These positions are based in Boston / New England (Massachusetts), Chicago (Illinois), and Dallas / Houston (Texas)and focus on driving strategic customer development and new business growth within the respective regions.
Our client provides scalable, integrated logistics solutions across international and domestic markets and serves a broad range of industries including consumer goods, healthcare, industrials, and energy.
About the Role
The National Account Manager is responsible for developing long-term customer relationships while actively expanding new business opportunities within the assigned territory. The role combines strategic sales responsibility, customer consulting, and solution-oriented logistics expertise across multiple transportation modes.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain long-term, strategic customer relationships within the assigned region
- Create and execute a structured new business development strategy
- Identify, qualify, and develop new customer opportunities
- Analyze customer transportation and logistics requirements and design tailored solutions
- Conduct customer visits, presentations, and commercial negotiations
- Prepare regular sales reports and forecasts
- Collaborate closely with internal sales, operations, pricing, and marketing teams
- Support customer onboarding and implementation, including coordination of training
- Monitor market trends and actively promote new services and solutions
- Build and maintain a strong industry network
- Proactively generate leads, including targeted outreach and cold calling when required
Required Skills & Profile
- Proven success in B2B sales, ideally within logistics or freight forwarding
- Strong understanding of international and domestic freight forwarding, including air & ocean freight as well as warehousing and distribution
- Excellent negotiation, presentation, and closing skills
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication abilities
- Structured, self-driven, and commercially focused working style
- Confident use of CRM systems
Experience & Education
- Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent professional experience
- Minimum 5 years of experience in international logistics or freight forwarding sales
- Demonstrated track record in business development
- Experience managing complex customer structures and senior decision-makers
- Willingness to travel (approximately 25%)
- Valid driver’s license
