Our client is a globally leading logistics company. For the UK subsidiary, we are seeking a Finance Director who will act as a key business partner to local management, ensuring financial leadership, transformation, and post-M&A integration. The position sits above the traditional “Financial Controller” level, reporting directly to local management and with a dotted line to the Regional Finance Director EMEA.
In a dynamic environment with multiple divisions and ongoing growth through acquisitions, the Finance Director will play a pivotal role: ensuring profitability, compliance, and governance while further developing processes, systems, and teams.
Responsibilities
- Strategic and operational responsibility for finance, accounting, reporting, and controlling in the UK
- Develop and implement financial strategies in line with global and regional directives
- Lead budgeting, forecasting, and long-term planning processes
- Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements (US GAAP & local GAAP)
- Ensure compliance, governance, and a robust risk-management framework
- Manage cash flow, working capital, and efficiency programs
- Actively contribute to post-M&A integrations (systems, processes, reporting)
Your Profile
- Degree in Finance/Accounting; MBA or CPA/Chartered Accountant desirable
- At least 8 years of relevant experience, including several years in a leadership role
- Strong background in Finance & Accounting, Controlling, and M&A integration
- International logistics or freight forwarding experience is a plus
- Solid expertise in governance, compliance, and transformation projects
- Leadership strength, analytical mindset, and high integrity
- Fluent English, additional languages an advantage
