Global Airfreight – Strong Leadership at a Strategic Hub
In this role, you will take on operational leadership of the airfreight division at a strategically important logistics hub in Southern Germany. You will be responsible for performance, team management, and service quality while driving process optimization and customer satisfaction.
This position is embedded within a globally operating logistics group recognized for its speed, structure, and scale in international airfreight. The company combines global reach with process excellence and high compliance standards in a network that sets benchmarks in international logistics.
Your Responsibilities
Full operational and disciplinary leadership of the airfreight team in Stuttgart
Team organization including vacation planning, shift coordination, performance control, and staff motivation
Identification of training needs and continuous development of team members
Responsibility for productivity and cost management in line with budget targets
P&L responsibility for the airfreight division in coordination with station and product management
Monitoring of key financial KPIs and achieving EBIT, NPA / CCS / EOS, and other defined performance metrics
Oversight of receivables and consistent management of collections
Customer ownership for the branch’s top airfreight clients and primary escalation point for service issues
Ensuring high service quality and reliability across operations
Responsibility for operational sales in alignment with the line manager
Operational quality management including KPI tracking and continuous process monitoring
Clear communication and information flow to all relevant internal stakeholders
Strict compliance with applicable laws, internal regulations, and confidentiality requirements
Your Profile
Completed training in freight forwarding and logistics or a comparable university degree
Extensive knowledge of airfreight forwarding and international logistics processes
Strong communication and negotiation skills on all levels
Several years of leadership experience in dynamic, performance-driven environments
Proficient in business software tools including Microsoft Office 365
Structured, hands-on leadership style with a strong results orientation
