Svenja has 16 years of professional experience, versed in the fields of Liner Shipping and International Freight Forwarding. Essentially more than 5 years for Maersk Line in Hamburg, Germany in executive position acting as Trade Manager for the USA Westbound Trade out of Central Europe.
Svenja held different positions in the Transport & Logistic sector in Germany. Started with Panalpina in Bremen and Hamburg, with OOCL in Hamburg within customer service position. Followed by various positions with Alfred C. Toepfer in Hamburg, Panalpina in Hamburg and with HHLA (Hamburger Hafen & Logistik AG) in Hamburg.

Svenja’s professional experience has been built while acting as Trade Manager, Key-Account Manager, Sales- and Marketing Manager as well as Assistant to Branch Manager in various global operating companies specifically in the areas of:
- Very good understanding and reading of job activities of lower and middle management positions as well as customer service functions in the carrier and forwarding agent sector
- Understanding and handling of strategic pricing and procurement activities
- Contacts to shipping lines and forwarding agents
- Implementation of successful and new sales structures
- Implementation (helped with) global carrier policies and new development strategies within Trade Management organisation after a global carrier merger
- Accomplished in the fields of Americas Trade
- Carrier relations
Born and raised in Germany. Svenja started her career as an apprentice with Panalpina in Bremen. After a few years in International Freight Forwarding in Bremen she moved to Global Ocean Carrier side in Hamburg.
